About Braskem
You may have never noticed it, but Braskem has already been a part of your daily life for a long time. And that because many of the plastic objects you
use every day are made from the resins developed by Braskem.
Braskem is a Brazilian company, leader in thermoplastic resins in Latin America and the third largest producer in the Americas, and it has 18 industrial
plants spread over Brazil, annually producing more than 11 million tons of thermoplastic resins and other petrochemical products.
Servicing many different market segments, Braskem provides its thermoplastic resins such as polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC to the manufacturers of
end products, packaging, industrial components and consumption materials, being present in practically all the sectors of the Brazilian economy and in
another 60 countries in five continents.
At Braskem’s Technology and Innovation Centers, the company employs a highly qualified team, with around 170 researchers and technicians, and invests approximately
R$ 50 million in research and development projects. At the TICs products, processes and applications are developed in partnership with clients, the plastic
transformers, involved with the third generation of plastic production. Therefore, the company aggregates value and competitiveness to the entire production
chain of the petrochemical and plastic sectors.
And that because Braskem is the first integrated petrochemical company in the country, that is, it combines the first and second-generation operations
of the plastic production chain into a single company. The first generation is responsible for the production of basic raw materials fundamental for the
second generation, which deals with thermoplastic resins. And because it is integrated in the production chain, Braskem offers great advantages to its
market in terms of production scales and operational efficiency.
